Cross Connection Control Program

Changes to the City of Hutchins Cross Connection Control Program as of February 1, 2018

Federal and state laws require all water providers to meet certain standards to obtain, treat, and deliver water to protect public health.  Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires all water providers establish a Cross-Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Program.

Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow in a potable water distribution system.

A cross connection is a connection between a potable drinking water supply and a possible source of contamination or pollution.

Therefore, the City of Hutchins has enacted a Cross-Connection Control and Backflow Control Program effective February 1, 2018.
