The Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Hutchins is responsible for enforcing City Ordinances regarding property located within the city limits of Hutchins.
The City Ordinances which are most often violated by residents are:
- Article 7.100 – JUNKED VEHICLES
- Article 6.100 – TALL WEEDS, BRUSH & UNSIGHTLY VEGETATION
- Article 10.300 – PARKING RESTRICTIONS
The Hutchins Police Department has a program to remind residents of these violations and gain voluntary compliance in an effort to improve the quality of life in Hutchins. Officers will be going door to door to educate homowners about various City Ordinances and also inquiring about any concerns the homeowners might have regarding public safety issues in their neighborhood.

The City of Hutchins has its own functional jail. The jail holds individuals with Class C Misdemeanors and individuals awaiting transfer to other facilities due to warrants.
Payments to the jail must be in the form of Money Order, Cashiers Check, or Credit/Debit Card. (NOTE: Credit/Debit card payments are subject to an additional 3% processing fee)

Who must Register?
Convicted sex offenders are required to register with local law enforcement in the jurisdiction where they live. The names and addresses of sex offenders who register with the Hutchins Police Department are provided to The Texas Department of Public Safety, which maintains a public database of names, crimes and addresses.
Sex Offender registration is by appointment only. Appointments can be made on line or over the phone. Appointments are available on;
Availability for Registration
Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
When you come in to register you must bring the following with you;
- Social Security card
- State or Federal probation paperwork
- Photo id
- Probation officer contact information
- Job information
- School information
- Complete vehicle information – plate number, VIN number, make, model, color
- Nearest relatives address and phone number
